Sheriff Fox Episode 60: With the loved ones

The sun rises over the small town of Knothole, and in the humble house of Sheriff Fiona Fox and Inspector Barby Koala, the two friends come down stairs and head over the kitchen in order to prepare their breakfast. The white koala goes straight to the furnace and lights it up, while the red fox pulls a chair and sits down. “Got any plan for this valentine day, Barby?” Fiona asks out of curiosity

The question makes Barby smiles and blush up. “Not really. And you?” She replies while she start to make the eggs

“Ah, you already know, me and Sally, a romantic dinner by candlelight” Fiona explains a little blushing and smiling. “I also bought a beautiful necklace for her.” She tells

“I bet she'll love it.” Barby comments, but she soon realizes one thing. “Wait! You bought it with what money?” She look back

“Actually, it was a brown bear called Vito who paid it for me” Fiona reveals. “Hey! I think he is a mob boss.”

“Hmph! The Mafia here...they are small fishes compared to what we've faced, Fi” Barby says optimist and without a drop of fear from the mafia as she return to make the breakfast

Fiona giggles. “Yeah, the mafia is nothing compared to killer robots, evil duplicates from another dimension or a wannabe god echidna.” She says. “We can totally deal with this bear, what was his name again? I think it was Vito...Andolini...Brown”

Barby suddenly is surprised when heard this name. “What did you say?” She turns around to Fiona

“What? Vito Andoline Brown?” Fiona repeat, confused

“I can't believe! Vito Brown is alive!” Barby says surprised and stopping.

“You know him?”

“Yeah, I heard about him.” Barby confirms. “In Station Square, he was a very powerful mob boss. The last time I read about him was that he was declared dead after an explosion in a warehouse. His body was never found.” She reveals.

“Well, we can say this statement is false” Fiona comments

“True, but I'll stay with my word. We can totally deal with these folks.” Barby declares as she proposes a brofist to Fiona

“Definitely!” Fiona get up and accept Barby’s invention to make a brofist with her.

Minutes later, Fiona goes to the town hall all excited and holding the gift box in hand. She stops in front of the door, removes her hat to quickly straighten the hair and then does the same to her sheriff star. Then, with everything into place, Fiona knocks the door. She waits a few seconds until the door is opened by the mayor herself, Sally Acorn. “Fiona!” The chipmunk says in joy

“Happy Valentine day!” Fiona says with a smile as she hand over the gift to Sally

“Oh, Fiona! You didn't need to!” Sally, of course, is very happy to receive the gift.

“Of course, I needed to” Fiona replies

“Please, come in” Sally invites her girlfriend. Fiona does walk in and the chipmunk close the door soon after. Next, she opens the box, and just like the sheriff has imagined, an expression of wonder emerged on the mayor's face. “Fi, it's so beautiful!” She amazed

“Want me to put on you?” Fiona offers herself

“Yes, please” Sally accept the offer. Fiona gets the necklace, walk behind the chipmunk and put it around Sally's neck carefully. “How do I look?” The chipmunk asks

“I...don't know what to say” Fiona says blushing and nervous

“I loved it! Thank you.” Sally thanks for the gift

“Y-you’re welcome” Fiona replies, still blushing and nervous

“Oh, I also have a gift for you, but I think it won't be as good as this.” Sally tells, feeling a little bad

“I'm sure I'm gonna love it anyway” Fiona comfort her.

“Okay then” Sally says smiling. “Wait here, I let it in my office” She announces as she goes to her office get Fiona’s gift

“Alright” Fiona agrees in wait.

Sally doesn't take long and soon return with a gift box in hands. “You know, it was hard for me to choose what to give you. I didn't know what you would like, you never seemed to be the materialistic-type” She explains. “But I eventually figure out what to do.” She decides to finally give the gift box to Fiona

Fiona gets the gift box, wondering what Sally could have possibly chosen to give to her, she finally open it up, only to feel confused right away. “Uh, don’t get me wrong, Sally, but…I already have a sheriff star”

“Oh, no, no, no! Here let me explain: for this day only, I'd planned to make myself an officer so we can work together and spend the whole day, just you and me.” Sally explains her plan for the Valentine day

“Nice...idea, Sally.” Fiona doesn’t know what to think about this idea. “Wait, don't you have work to do today?” She points out

“Nicole can take of everything.” Sally replies.  “Right, Nicole?” She address to her assistant, who is in her desk.

“Right, Miss Mayor!” Nicole confirms. “Lucky for you that I hadn't made plans for today.” She adds, a little depressed.

“Thanks, Nicole” Sally appreciate her assistant’s help.

“You're really taking this seriously, aren't you?” Fiona says a little concerned

“Yeah, why? A problem with that?” Sally asks

“No, no, no, it’s just…well, the police station is nowhere near to be considered a romantic place” Fiona tells

“You haven't read any of the 'Love behind bars' books, have you?” Nicole jokes about it.

“Besides, it's only for today, what harm can happen?” Sally says totally confident that today will be a perfect valentine day

Fiona gets thoughtful while she throws the newest sheriff star up and down. “Yeah, what harm can happen?” Eventually, she agrees with the idea with a smile.

Sally clears her throat. “Aren't you forgetting something, Sheriff?” She insinuates as she point the finger into her own chest.

“Oh, right!” Sheriff Fiona quickly realizes what she meant; she attaches the sheriff star into Sally's chest, thus officially making her a part of the Knothole Police Force “Welcome aboard, Officer Sally Acorn.” She declares smiling, finally starting to play along

Moments later, Sheriff Fiona Fox and Officer Sally Acorn arriving at the police station, they are expecting to spend a nice and calm day together without anything tragic happen. But for their surprise, when they pass through the door, they see Inspector Barby Koala helping carrying Cassia out of her prison cell along with the other pronghorn, Clove. “Barby!” Sheriff Fiona and Officer Sally run toward their direction. “What the hell is happening?”

“It's my sister! She is very sick!” Clove the Pronghorn reply extremely worried.

“She need get to the hospital now!” Inspector Barby declares.

And so, everyone helped take the sick half-machine pronghorn to the hospital. There, the doctor is doing everything he can to stabilize Cassia. Outside the medical room, Clove is walking from one side to the other in agony, Sheriff Fiona and Officer Sally are sitting side-by-side kinda sad because this happening ruined their plans for today and Inspector Barby is leaning with her back to the wall with crossed arms; the doctor walk out the room and it’s soon confronted by Clove. “How is she? Is she okay?”

“I managed to stabilize her, she need to rest now” The doctor replies

“How happened to her?” Officer Sally asks

“It's a rare condition called hypersensitivity, she will have strong allergic reactions to, well, pretty much anything.” The doctor explains. “I am more surprised that she manages to not have an allergic reaction until now”

“It's thanks to the Cyberization” Clove reveals. “That's why we decided to work for Dr. Robotnik. It was a hard choice, but it was her only chance to survive.”

“Whatever he did, it seems to have worked for a good time, what happened?” Sheriff Fiona points out

“Well, there is a crack in her 'cybernetics skin', maybe that's the cause.”

Where Clove heard that and made the connections, she snapped. “This is your fault!” She advances toward the sheriff, grabs her fur and then pushes against the wall. “She will die because of you!” Clove yells out very angry, but crying at the same time. Inspector Barby and Officer Sally holds Clove's arms and manages to pulls her back, releasing the fox in the process.

“My fault?! You and your half-robot sister tried to kill me twice!” Sheriff Fiona defends herself outraged

“Fiona, that’s enough!” Officer Sally stands up to prevent more tension between her girlfriend and the concerned sister. “Clove, is there anything we can do to help your sister?” She asks as she and Barby let go the pronghorn

“Hmmm, now that I remember, there were others like my sister, and when someone was damaged, they were sent to a special room where a robot could repair them” Clove explains

“But how about Tails? Or Rotor? They are good at fix things” Sheriff Fiona points out

“My sister IS NOT a thing and I WON’T risk her life by any chance!” Clove shouts out very angry

“So all we need to do is bring the robot here so it can repair your sister” Inspector Barby concludes

“Yes. And since it's a basic equipment, it can be found in any Egg Legion's base” Clove adds

By hearing that lame name once again, the sheriff fox lets out a laugh unintentionally. “Sorry…I still think it a really stupid name” She apologizes

“You aren’t the only one…” Clove, sort of annoyed, agree.

Departing in a carriage, Sheriff Fiona, Officer Sally and Clove leave the town of Knothole and headed to an Egg Legion's base, the same one where the sheriff and her friends were captured and almost killed. Inspector Barby stood behind in case problem takes place in Knothole, of course.

Finally reaching the Egg Legion’s base entrance, an egg-shaped rock, the three girls come down the carriage. “I hope it still here...and working.” Clove says hopeful

“Don't worry...” Officer Sally gently places her hand over Clove’s shoulder. “…we will find it. I promise” She comforts her

“Hmph!” Clove, not caring for her, rudely push Sally's hand out of her shoulder

“Come on, Horned.” Sheriff Fiona tells to the pronghorn while she stands beside the closed gate. Both of them exchanged glances of hatred against the other for a moment. Next, Clove place her hand in a secret panel, thus causing the egg-shaped rock to move aside, revealing a staircase, she goes and begin to walk down the stairs, then the officer chipmunk comes in after and the sheriff fox at last; the rock move back to its place

Immediately realizing the utter darkness, Sheriff Fiona has to activate the light function in her sheriff star, now able to see where they are going, they get back to walk down the stairs. Clove, as being the only one who know this place, lead the way, while Fiona and Sally hold hands firmly so they don't accidentally get lost here.

“There goes our valentine day…” Fiona sighs in sadness

“Oh, Fiona, it’s alright” Sally comforts her girlfriend. “But I would prefer not to spend valentine day in a place where I almost got killed.”

“Focus!” Clove demands annoyed. “This is not a romantic walk!” She adds, and a brief moment of silence takes place

“Where exactly is the robot your sister need?” Officer Sally asks

“In the nursing room, just above the prison cells floor, on the fifth floor.” Clove replies. “Right now we are in the first floor, the entrance” By the time she finish that sentence, they finally reaches the bottom of the staircase, where they bump into a door; the pronghorn open the door, but because of the darkness, they can’t see where they are. “Sheriff” She make room for the fox to passes, who accept reluctantly, thanks to the light be emanating from the sheriff star, they are able to realize that they are in some sort of auditorium. “Good. We are finally in the second floor. Two more floors below and we will get to the nursing room” She announces

“Isn't there a quick way to go?” Sheriff Fiona asks

“If there was, we would be using it.” Clove replies a little frustrated. The trio gets back to walking, headed to the next staircase that leads to downstairs

Without their knowledge, they are being watched by a security camera by someone. “She is here? Unexpected. This opportunity shall not be wasted.”

They continue to walk down stairs, they pass by the canteen floor, surprisingly, there are no rotten food smell, maybe the low-level members of the Egg Legion has stolen the entire food stock when they abandoned the place. Next, the dormitory floor, like the previous floor, it seems than the members had taken away the pillows, blankets and mattress. Finally, they reach the nursing floor, a long hallway with dozens of rooms.

“We're here. Now what?” Sheriff Fiona wonders. Suddenly, Clove grabs her by the fur “What the…?! The hell is you doing?” She demands as she is being dragging by the pronghorn; she had let go of Sally's hand unwittingly

“I need your light to find room 17” Clove tells as she drags the sheriff near the rooms at the left, managing to points the light that come out Fiona's sheriff star to illuminate the numbers on the doors. “14…15…16…17! I find it!”

“WE find it!” Sheriff Fiona points out as she gets Clove’s hand off her. “And next time ask me before starting to drag me around!”

“Fiona, please, calm down” Officer Sally approaches her girlfriend and gently get back to hold hands with her. “I'm sure she didn't mean it.” She says.

“Enough of this! Each second the more we waste with cheap talk, the more my sister is near death!” She passes the sermon on them. Then, when she holds the door knob with the hand, all the lights turn on suddenly

“Sheriff Fox…” An almost identical voice to Barby, but with a robotic tone in the middle, speaks. “…you come with me. MF has a few problems to deal with you.” Everyone looks forward and are surprised when they Metal Barby, who is now much more similar to Barby; she even has a mouth and two eyes instead of a single visor.

“Metal Barby!” Both Sheriff and Officer Sally says surprised

“Metal Barby?” Clove is confused, since she never heard about Metal Fiona in the first place.

“Remember the time you and your sister receive a paper, saying there was a reward for my head? Yeah, it was Metal Fiona's idea. She is a robot created by that fat man to kill me.” Sheriff Fiona explains.

“I prefer to be called MB from now on.” Metal Barby declares as she begin to walk toward them

“I don't care what you call yourself! You will become scrap right now!” Sheriff Fiona, without having to think twice, pulls out her laser gun and get ready to shoot with maximum capacity

“Hold!” Clove suddenly grabs the sheriff’s gun. “We can’t waste time with a fight!” She says. “I will deal with her”

“How?”

“Clove, no! Metal Barby is very dangerous!” Officer Sally tries to stop her, but Fiona hold her.

“Metal Barby, this is Clove the Pronghorn, Egg Boss of the Northamer Egg Army. I command you to stand down.” Clove use her authority as a high member of the Egg Legion to make Metal Barby not interfere

“I take orders only from MF, and you, Egg Boss...” Metal Barby approaches Clove, grabs her gray coat and lift her in the air, “…is not her!” She throws Clove to the other side, sending her fly until eventually lose speed and fall dragging in the floor

“Sally, stay behind me!” Sheriff Fiona quickly pulls her girlfriend behind her, and then opens fire against the robot. A powerful blast is shot from the laser gun and fully hit MB, but for their surprise, MB survive the attack, thanks to an energy field around her; a cocky smirk shows up on MB's face

MB goes flying into them, Sheriff Fiona try to shoot as many times as possible in order to stop her, but that energy field deflect all shot like nothing. The robot koala grabs the fox’s hands with the right hand and then lifts her above the head, following by a hard slam against the floor and one against the wall.

“Let her go!” Officer Sally attempts to help the sheriff by punching MB right behind the head. Unfortunately, but obvious, tries to punches something as hard as metal can only ends with a hurts hand. “Ouch!”

MB soon pays attention on the chipmunk and the fancy necklace she is using. “Beautiful necklace” She comments as she grabs it. “I will break it.” She tears out the necklace of Sally's neck, throw it in the floor and step on it, shattering into pieces. Sally and Fiona are shocked, this was a special gift, one that Fiona gave to Sally for valentine day just to demonstrate how much she love her; then, MB grabs the chipmunk by her neck with her free left hand and lift her in the air. “MF only desire Sheriff Fiona Fox alive, you is completely unnecessary” The robot now seek to strangle Sally. Having more than enough of this, the angry Fiona is feeling right now finally trigger her transformation into Dark Fiona. Now with super strength, the fox easily break MB’s hand. “What the…?!”

Dark Fiona quickly gets up and grabs MB's neck, forcing her to release Sally. “I am getting tired of you, cheap copies! Metal Fiona, if you are somehow hearing this, I have one thing to tell you...” Then, she lifts MB in the air and slams her so hard against the floor that it breaks. “LEAVE ME ALONE!” She steps on the robot so hard, but so, so hard, that she passes through all the floors below until finally stop in the arena. MB is finally destroyed, having a footprint marked in the chest

Sally eventually recover herself from the strangle, only to get even more shocker when she laid eyes on Dark Fiona. “Fiona! You…”

“Sally! It’s okay! It’s okay! I…” Dark Fiona immediately tries to calm down Sally. “…am in control” She declares as she look into her own hands.

Sally gets up and slowly walk toward her girlfriend, who is now transformed into that...dark thing. She approaches her and softly touch her face. “Oh, Fiona, you said you wouldn’t transform into this again…”

Fiona smiles and holds Sally's hand. “What harm can happen?” She recites the same words the chipmunk said before all this happen. They hugged each other, Fiona reverse into her normal form

Clove then shows up, hurting of course, and avoiding the hole in the middle of the floor. “I may have missed a few parts, but I saw. I saw you like that monster again, the same monster who broke my sister's armor.” She tells with grudge. “Let's just get over what we came here, okay?” She says as she heading to room 17, where the robot that might Cassia’s life might be.

Later on, they returned to Knothole with the robot Cassia needs, a fully functional wrench-shaped robot. They handle to bring it to the hospital and then to Cassia's room, next, Clove activate and program it to repair her sister's armor, with Clove herself and the doctor supervised the entire time.

Waiting outside the room, Sheriff Fiona and Officer Sally are sitting side-by-side. “What a Valentine Day…” Fiona comments wistfully. “…not to mention what happened to your gift”

“Yeah…” Sally agrees with the same mood. “…it was such a beautiful necklace”

Then, Inspector Barby shows up. “What's wrong? Didn’t the job go well?” She wonders

“Look, Barby, I…” Fiona realizes there is a lipstick mark on Barby's face. “Have a nice Valentine day, Barby?”

“What? Oh, man!” At first Barby doesn’t get it, but soon realize the lipstick and quickly clean it. “Today was…normal. Nothing happened.” She tries to pretend nothing happened to her.

Seeing Barby trying to disguise what seems to be something interesting, suddenly lifts the mood for both the sheriff fox and the temporarily officer chipmunk; they giggle together. “Well, still is Day Valentine, isn't?” Sally says as she wraps her arms around Fiona’s neck.

“And you still are the officer” Fiona adds as she straighten Sally's star

At that moment, the doctor comes out the room. “Miss Mayor?” He asks

“Uh…yes?” Since this whole Officer Sally is only a thing between her and Fiona, it was better let the doctor address her as mayor.

“Everything went right. Cassia's 'armor' was fully repaired and her condition is better now.” He explains

“Great!” Inspector Barby says

“She will have to stay here for now under observation, along with Clove, who insisted in stay by her side. They will be able to return to prison tomorrow.”

“Thanks for letting us know” Sheriff Fiona says. The doctor walks away. “You know what, Sally? Let's forget about those two horned and enjoy the rest of the day.” She suggests

“I couldn’t agree more!” Sally and Fiona stand up and walk away, followed by Barby.
